HEROES’ AND MISSING PERSONS’ MONUMENT
The heroes’ and missing persons’ monument of our community is located in the central square of the village. It was designed in a semi-circular shape and has eight small windows faced towards the north. The “windows” are eight and eight are the heroes and missing persons of the community. A light is burning on each window, “symbol of our wish to learn about our missing persons and the freedom of our occupied land”.
A small fountain is found in the middle of the monument.
The monument was constructed in 1998 and was inaugurates by the honorable President of the House of Parliament Mr. Demetris Christofias on the 25th of July in 2003.
The monument was designed gratis by a sculptor, Nicolas Kouroushis from the village of Mitsero. The monument is wholly constructed by materials found in the area of Mitsero, materials familiar to our heroes.

- Andreas Georgiou Petrou, missing since 22/7/74
- Petros Georgiou, missing since 17/8/74
- Andreas Theodossiou, missing since 21/7/74
- Costas Iacovou, missing since 26/7/74
- Chrysostomos Miltiadous Panayi, who died while on duty in Agios Pavlos area in Nicosia on the 16/8/1974. His remains were identified DNA method in 2004.
- Andreas Nicolaou Flaounas, missing since 22/7/74
- Panikos Soteriou Danezi, missing since 22/7/74
- Pantelis Charalambous Kapnos who died while on duty near the Tomb of the great ethnarch Makarios.
